Tape by Ever Life Design

TAPE is the new collection recently presented by EVER Life Design in collaboration with the designer Monica Graffeo. It is a selection of objects for the home that stands out for its fresh design and for being highly versatile and functional: the same equippable strap can be used to organise the bathroom or kitchen, to work out at home or to keep essentials to hand in the shower.

In this article we explain how the system works, what each of its three versions —TAPE STORAGE, TAPE FIT and TAPE SHOWER— includes, how it is fixed and what to bear in mind when incorporating it into an interior design project, whether domestic or for the workplace.

An equippable strap for wall, door or shower

TAPE is a light, compact collection that creates a minimal atmosphere wherever it is placed. It can be installed in small corners or in spaces not usually put to use, such as doors. The main pieces are the system's straps, made from a strong, solid technical material. At its launch, EVER Life Design offered them in three lengths, with a series of loops onto which the various accessories are hooked.

The idea is to create customised solutions from a single object: the accessories are placed at the desired height and the composition can change over time. According to the manufacturer, the materials used are sustainable and suitable for everyday life at home. The collection is organised into three versions:

Key points for incorporating it into a project

TAPE is neither a piece of furniture nor a fixed accessory, but a system that adapts to the space available. These are the points that make it useful for designers:

• Leftover spaces: it makes use of surfaces that are normally left empty, such as a door leaf, a narrow stretch of wall or a corner.
• Custom height: each accessory hooks onto whichever loop suits, so the composition adapts to the user and can be rearranged.
• From bathroom to office: the manufacturer proposes it for bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, studies and children's rooms, as well as for offices, private offices and reception areas.
• No drilling into tiles: the TAPE SHOWER version attaches with suction cups to the glass of the shower screen or to the tiles.

TAPE STORAGE: order on the wall or the door

An organiser that adapts to every room.

TAPE STORAGE is a multifunctional system for organising and storing objects in different spaces, both at home and in the workplace. The strap is fixed to the wall or door with metal brackets and is completed with the collection's accessories: pouches in different sizes (small, small double, medium and large), a rectangular mirror, hooks for hanging clothes or objects and roll holders in natural beech. The height of each accessory can be changed to suit each person's needs.

According to EVER Life Design's data sheet, the door strap is 2 m long and the wall straps 1 m and 1.60 m. The pouches are made in black and in mottled ice grey, and the clothes hanger in matt black. The manufacturer also offers ready-equipped compositions with several pouches.

TAPE FIT: a small workout space at home

Suspension straps, mat and block for working out away from the gym.

The TAPE FIT version incorporates suspension training straps with solid natural beech handles which, according to the manufacturer, are sweat-resistant and easy to clean. The straps, made of a waterproof technical material, are adjustable in length so that exercises can be adapted to each person's height and fitness level, and the handle incorporates felt padding for leg exercises.

The standard version includes an extension accessory for fixing the straps, for example, to a beam; two additional fixing systems are available as options, one for doors and one for walls. This solution offers the possibility of keeping fit at home too, an important consideration today.

Cork mat and block

Alongside the straps, EVER Life Design has designed a mat and a block for practising yoga, made of natural cork and rubber, materials the manufacturer describes as fully recyclable. Large bags are available for storing the complete kit.

TAPE SHOWER: organising the shower without drilling

The strap attaches to the glass of the shower screen or to the tiles.

Alongside these two versions, EVER Life Design offers solutions for the shower with TAPE SHOWER. The 60 cm strap is fixed inside the shower enclosure with four heavy-duty transparent suction cups, with no need to drill. According to the manufacturer, it only adheres to smooth, glossy surfaces, such as glass, mirrors or tiles.

The strap is made of polypropylene and the pouches of PVC and polyester, waterproof and easy to wash. There are two configurations: strap with one small pouch and one small double pouch, or strap with two small double pouches. The pouches come in black and in mottled ice grey. In 2022 the manufacturer added a version with double-sided adhesive tape to the range.

Monica Graffeo and EVER Life Design

EVER Life Design is an Italian brand belonging to Thermomat Saniline, based in Borgo Virgilio (Mantua), specialising in bathroom products: shelves, washbasins, sanitaryware, seats and shower trays, taps and accessories. With TAPE, the brand presented a concept devoted to the evolution of domestic spaces and the well-being of those who live in them, in line with its Life Design approach.

Monica Graffeo was born in Pordenone in 1973 and studied industrial design at the Scuola Italiana Design in Padua. She worked with Fausto Boscariol and with Gabriele Centazzo of Valcucine, and has worked as an independent designer since 1998; one of her first collaborations was with Kristalia. For EVER Life Design she has designed, in addition to TAPE, the Bounce washbasin.
