The Paral collection by Inbani
Paral, by Víctor Carrasco for Inbani: wall-hung bathroom furniture with mitred construction, vertical handles and washbasins in three sizes and materials.

Inbani presents its new Paral collection, designed by Víctor Carrasco and conceived as “the search for a conclusion in the bathroom habitat”. Paral's design stands out for its timelessness and for the care taken over its proportions, expressed in a programme of washbasins, wall-hung units and auxiliary pieces.
In this article we look at the idea behind the collection, its two defining features —fully mitred construction and vertical handles—, the washbasins and their materials, the finishes of the units and the points to resolve when specifying it, based on the technical documentation Inbani published for Paral.

Paral, by Víctor Carrasco for Inbani
Paral is designed by Víctor Carrasco. According to Inbani, the Valencia-born designer graduated in Industrial Design Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, founded Viccarbe in the early 2000s and, after selling the company to Steelcase, set up his own design studio.
Inbani describes Paral as a collection of timeless character and carefully considered proportions, in which every piece seeks an iconic quality. Its catalogue sums it up as follows: “Friendly and rigorous, Paral is the search for a conclusion in the bathroom habitat.” The programme relies on few elements: straight-lined washbasins, clean-volumed wall-hung units and a single vertical handle per front.

Mitred construction and parallel lines
Two design decisions define Paral's image.
The furniture uses a fully mitred modular construction system. According to Inbani's data sheet, the fronts are mitred to the sides and top, and the sides to the top, so each unit reads as a continuous volume, in lacquer and in wood alike.
The units are made open at the top: they are always completed with a top —plain or with an integrated washbasin— or with a monobloc washbasin that covers the whole upper surface.

Vertical handles
Another identifying feature of the collection is the use of vertical handles and the parallel lines created between them. Each front has a single handle, whose design, finish and position are defined by the collection. As standard it is supplied in the same finish as the unit; if another material or colour is wanted, it is ordered as a separate reference.
The collection's catalogue shows handles in marble (Pietra Grey or Negro Marquina), in the same wood or lacquer as the unit and in metal, with finishes such as polished chrome, brushed graphite or brushed gold. It is the device that allows a contrast to be introduced without changing the volume of the unit.

Washbasins: three sizes, three materials
Paral was launched with washbasins in Solidsurface, Cementsolid and marble. The countertop or wall-hung washbasins are arranged by length —Paral60, Paral80 and Paral100— and are supplied with an unslotted waste, without overflow and with optional tap holes; they require a trap. Paral60 and Paral80 come in right- and left-hand versions. They are joined by the tops with integrated washbasin, 12 mm thick, and the double countertop washbasin (PA003).
- Solidsurface: Inbani describes it as a compact, non-porous, hygienic and hard-wearing material, with a velvety feel similar to that of natural stone.
- Marble: washbasins in Blanco Carrara, Pietra Grey and Negro Marquina, 12 cm high.
- Cementsolid: in the 2020 documentation, the tops were offered in five colours: Deep Grey, Arena Grey, Terracota, Mediterranean and Natural Grey.

Wall-hung units and five finishes
The drawer units come in five finishes, which can be combined with any of the washbasins:
- Matt lacquer (LM): on moisture-resistant MDF board, in any colour from Inbani's colour card or the RAL and NCS charts.
- Textured lacquer (LT): a high-hardness lacquer; this is the one Inbani recommends when the lacquered top is to be used as a work surface.
- Gloss lacquer (LB): also on moisture-resistant MDF; available on the drawer units, not on the auxiliary units with doors.
- S3 wood (wild oak): natural European oak strips bonded to moisture-resistant MDF, in shades such as Natural, Grey, Burned or Smoked Wild Oak.
- S4 wood (Raw Oak): the same construction, in shades such as Natural, Golden, Grey or Bronzed Raw Oak.
According to the data sheet, the wall-hung units are 50 cm deep and 30 or 45 cm high, with one to four drawers and widths from 40 to 240 cm depending on the number of drawers. The drawers are metal, in an anthracite finish, with full-extension runners and soft-close. The monobloc units, 45 cm deep, only take a washbasin that covers their entire upper surface.

Key points for specifying Paral
Beyond aesthetics, these are the points to resolve at the design stage:
- A top or washbasin, always: the units are open at the top; a plain top, a top with integrated washbasin or a monobloc washbasin must be chosen.
- Work surface: Inbani does not recommend lacquered tops as a work surface, except in textured lacquer, and does not guarantee tops in matt or gloss lacquer because they scratch easily.
- Handles: they come in the unit's finish; a handle in another material or colour is ordered as a separate reference.
- Drawers: runners with a 40 kg load capacity, except in washbasin drawers, lit drawers or drawers less than 30 cm high, which have shorter runners.
- Assembly and transport: wall-hung units are delivered with fixings and assembly drawings, and compositions up to 180 cm are shipped assembled in a single piece; check access and routes on site.
- Custom colour: lacquers can be produced in RAL or NCS colours; Inbani warns that the result may differ slightly from the sample.
Inbani, the manufacturer
Inbani is a manufacturer of bathroom furniture and fittings founded in 2004 that works with external designers, such as Ludovica + Roberto Palomba and Norm Architects. The brand highlights customisation as one of its values, and in Paral this translates into made-to-measure tops within the minimum and maximum sizes set by the data sheet.
Update (2026): Paral is still on Inbani's website, with new settings. Cementsolid no longer appears in its range of materials.
Frequently asked questions
- Who designed the Paral collection?
- Víctor Carrasco, the Valencian industrial designer and founder of Viccarbe, for the bathroom furniture manufacturer Inbani.
- What materials are Paral washbasins made of?
- The collection was launched with washbasins in Solidsurface, Cementsolid and marble (Blanco Carrara, Pietra Grey and Negro Marquina). In Inbani's later documentation, the washbasins are listed in Solidsurface and marble.
- What size are the washbasins?
- According to the 2021 data sheet, Paral60, Paral80 and Paral100 are 60.5, 80.5 and 100.5 cm long, 45 cm deep and 13 cm high in Solidsurface or 12 cm in marble.
- Can a lacquered top be used as a countertop?
- Inbani only recommends it in textured lacquer, a high-hardness finish. Tops in matt or gloss lacquer are not guaranteed by Inbani because they scratch easily.
- Can the handle finish be changed?
- Yes. The design and position of the vertical handle are fixed, but the handle can be ordered in a different material or colour from the unit as a separate reference.
